Eastover Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 27 hole golf course facility located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Eastover Country Club has an 18-hole championship course, The Teeth of the Gator Golf Course and a 9-hole course, The Rabbit's Foot Front Course.
The courses at Eastover Country Club opened in 1987. They were designed by Joe Lee.
Located only 12 miles from the heart of downtown New Orleans. Eastover had been rated the "Best course in New Orleans" and as one of the "Top 5" courses in the state of Louisiana by Golf Digest magazine "Places to Play". Eastover ranked with other Joe Lee designed courses such as Doral, Lacosta, The Woodlands, Cog Hill, Walt Disney World, Sea Island, Callaway Gardens, and many more. Eastover offered a woodsy, pastoral setting measuring 6,740 yards from the tips and featured 61 greenside and fairway bunkers. Water came into play on 13 holes. Slope Rating was 127-tips / 122-men's.
Located in one of the most heavily damaged parts of New Orleans, Eastover was severely damaged with twelve feet of salt water sitting on it for nearly two weeks from the flood after after the storm.
For all intents, Eastover closed with Katrina in 2005. They did repair nine holes and try to make a go of it while repairing the back nine, but could not maintain enough business to keep the course going. The final round on the repaired nine was played in 2008.

Both courses at this location are closed, post Hurricane Katrina. They reopened 9 holes temporarily but closed them. Unfortunately, as far as I know there are no plans to reopen either of the courses at this location, however it was mentioned that one course would most likely be turned over for development, leaving only one course.
